Emergency UPS Callout | 24/7 Breakdown Response | Australia
24/7 emergency UPS breakdown response. 4-hour SLA available for critical sites across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and national.
When a UPS fails or alarms, every minute on bypass is a minute without battery protection. UPS Services provides 24/7 emergency callout for UPS breakdowns, alarms, battery failures, and transfer faults across Australia. Our technicians carry common spare parts on service vehicles and can typically restore protection within the first visit.
The triage process starts with a phone call. Our on-call engineer will walk you through immediate steps (confirming bypass status, checking alarm codes, verifying room temperature) while dispatching a field technician. For contract customers on a Priority SLA, the target is a technician on site within 4 hours in metro areas.
After the immediate fault is resolved, we provide a written root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent recurrence. Common emergency causes include battery end-of-life failure, capacitor degradation, fan seizure, firmware faults, and input supply anomalies. Many emergencies are preventable with a structured maintenance programme.

Frequently asked questions
5 questions answered.
Q01
What are your emergency response times?
For maintenance contract customers: Priority SLA targets 4 hours on site in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne metro; Critical SLA targets 2 hours metro. Regional contract sites are same-business-day. For non-contract emergency callouts, we aim for same-business-day in metro areas, though contract customers receive scheduling priority. Call 1800 046 344 to initiate an emergency callout.
Q02
What should I do when my UPS is alarming?
First, check the front panel or management software for the specific alarm code. Common alarms include "battery fault", "on bypass", "overtemperature", and "overload". Do not power off the UPS unless there is a visible safety hazard (smoke, sparks, burning smell). Call us with the alarm code and UPS model, and our on-call engineer will guide you through immediate actions while we dispatch a technician.
Q03
Can you provide a temporary UPS while mine is being repaired?
Yes. We maintain a fleet of single-phase and small three-phase UPS units available for temporary deployment. For larger systems (above 40kVA), temporary units may need to be sourced from our hire pool, which typically takes 24 to 48 hours depending on availability and your location. Temporary deployment includes delivery, connection to your existing bypass panel, and removal once the primary UPS is back in service.
Q04
Do you service all UPS brands on emergency callout?
Yes. Our technicians are factory-trained on APC by Schneider Electric, Eaton, Vertiv Liebert, PowerShield, Socomec, Riello and Salicru. We also service legacy and discontinued brands (Chloride, Emerson, Powerware, Best Power) where parts remain available. If we cannot source a part for a legacy unit, we can advise on a replacement strategy and provide temporary cover in the interim.
Q05
How much does an emergency callout cost?
For maintenance contract customers, emergency callouts within SLA scope are included in the contract fee (no additional callout charge). Non-contract emergency callouts are charged at a fixed callout fee plus hourly labour, with parts quoted separately. The callout fee varies by time of day (business hours vs after-hours/weekends). We provide a cost estimate before dispatching wherever possible.
